Ceramics, Plexiglass, Nuts and Bolts

Concept for a building. The pavilion is covered in the ballpoint drawings I usually make as distraction for my thoughts. I cannot think in clear images, but rather in sketch-like lines. Together the doodles create a space for thinking. From imagining this space and its shapes I created a set of building blocks to use to create your own Pavilion.

Tungsten Pavilion
The shapes that the roof of the pavilion has in both the maquette and the drawing make me think of buildings that are made by algorithms. The algorithms are implemented in designing software that will generate the design for you. I saw shapes that occur in nature (organic ones), back into the generated design. And the same kind of shapes were made by me when I designed my pavilion. Made by not really thinking about what I was doing, just like the ballpoint sketches.
